This bathhouse is one of the original buildings that resided here at the park. It was not common for beaches to have the option of both indoor and outdoor showers. Virginia Beach like many other black associated entities fell under the "separate but equal" concept. This particular beach and its amenities were modeled after Crandon Beach across the waterway of Bear Cut. This bathhouse along with the concession stand, Dance Pavilion, Mini Train station and the Carousel are on the national register of historic places.
