This Train and train station dates back to 1953 or the golden age of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park. The original train was created by the Miniature Train Corporation. Despite the small size, adults also do fit in the train. During the early days of the train, a contest was held to name it. The winning name was Biscayne Virginia Rickenbacker Central. Like the Historic Carousel, the mini train was dismantled and scrapped. The park brought back a 1953 train in 2008 to once again create memories for park visitors. In 2017, the 2008 train was officially retired. Thanks to donations given by former Dade County Commisioner Xavier Suarez, the park was able to bring in a new train. This time a replica rather than orginial still bearing the name... Biscayne Virginia Rickenbacker Central
