The founding as well as the revival of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park is rooted upon a civic activism success story. But it doesn't stop there...
The Historic Beach Park is also committed to Environmental Activism. Since the 2000's, the Historic Beach has seen over 5,000 volunteers put in over 300,000 hours into restoring the natural beauty of the island.
The projects that currently occur at HVKBP are:
- Shoreline Cleanups
- Exotic Plant removal
- Natural Area Management
- Post and Rope installation
